隨著人口密集程度的不斷遞增，可用土地面積的減少，建筑設(shè)計(jì)師們有了更加艱巨的現(xiàn)實(shí)任務(wù)——不僅僅再為大公司的重要項(xiàng)目服務(wù)，人類的住宅區(qū)的構(gòu)建成為另外一個(gè)長(zhǎng)久的課題。

被評(píng)為全球最適宜居住的城市哥本哈根，一直以氣候溫和和設(shè)計(jì)之城而聞名，同樣也面臨著人口居住問(wèn)題——來(lái)自丹麥的建筑設(shè)計(jì)事務(wù)所BigArchitects的House 8項(xiàng)目是其住宅三部曲之一，于2006年受St. Frederikslund 和Per Hopfner委托設(shè)計(jì)，位于城市外沿最南部的農(nóng)村地帶。

由 BIG 設(shè)計(jì)，位于哥本哈根，The 8 House 的居民可以騎自行車(chē)由街道直達(dá)10層的住宅中，這棟獨(dú)特的住宅建筑贏得了 2012 AIA（美國(guó)建筑師協(xié)會(huì)）榮譽(yù)獎(jiǎng)，以獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)其對(duì)于建筑實(shí)踐品質(zhì)的提升。The 8 House 占地650,000平方英尺，評(píng)審團(tuán)認(rèn)為該建筑獨(dú)特的設(shè)計(jì)對(duì)城市以及周邊環(huán)境產(chǎn)生了良好的影響。

領(lǐng)結(jié)形的建筑包含三種不同類型的住宅及110,000平方英尺的零售及辦公空間，The 8 House 是目前丹麥最大的私人開(kāi)發(fā)項(xiàng)目。同時(shí) The 8 House 曾在2011年巴塞羅那世界建筑節(jié)被評(píng)為最佳住宅建筑，獲得斯堪迪納維亞綠色屋頂獎(jiǎng)等。
